Mathilda J. Ross, 83, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 24th following a brief illness. Preceded in death by her son Timothy W. Ross, mother Rhoda Newman, father Moses Newman, brothers Jared Newman, Joe Newman, Merle Newman, Dennis Newman and Nonnie Newman. Mathilda leaves to cherish her loving husband of 64 1/2 years Kenneth Ross; children Beverly (Willie D.) Ellis, Charlene Ross, Kevin Ross, Pamela Ross all of Canton. A host of grandchildren (one of which she helped raise, Robert Ross); great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Penvose, Dr. DeCoy and Dr. Simmons for their exceptional care. Calling hours will be held Thursday February 26th from 6 PM - 8 PM in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM with Rev.
