Melvin L Nichols, 79, of Canton, passed away Thursday, April 2nd, at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Left Hand, WV on September 17, 1940, a son of the late Lester and Bessie (Justice)  Nichols, also preceded in death by son Anthony Nichols and sister Eula Mae Goodwin. Besides his wife Ruth A. (McGlothlin) Nichols, he is survived by daughter Donna Nichols Leahey, of Odenton, MD; sister Mardell McGlothlin, of Left Hand, WV; 4 brothers Rondel Nichols, of Hartville, Coy Nichols, Lee Nichols, both of Left Hand, WV, Delmis Nichols, of Uniontown; as well as 6 grandchildren Brentt, Lindsey, Lauren, Alex, Morgan, and Max. There will be a combined Celebration of Life for Melvin and his wife Ruth Ann Nichols, on March 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church of Canton South, 3741 Fohl St. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44706. In lieu of flowers, family requests Bible donation in memory of Melvin and Ruth through Gideons International at gideons.org
