Nick G. Sandru

Nick G. Sandru, 70, of North Canton, passed away Monday, August 31st, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation following a lengthy illness. Born in Canton on November 25, 1944, graduated from Case Western Reserve in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, then went on to earn his MBA from Kent State University. Nick was employed by Goodyear Aerospace as a Project Engineer for 7 years, Babcock & Wilcox as a Director of Facilities, Safety and Quality Assurance for 25 years, GE Capital as a Facilities Manager for 10 years, and later in life was an Adjunct Professor at Walsh University. A member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Canton where he was a member of the choir and parish council, a member and past president of the Plain Township Rotary, and also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Preceded in death by his parents Nick and Virginia (Musat) Sandru Jr. Survived by his wife Julie (Corcodel) Sandru to whom he married May 6, 1972; 2 daughters Alexis (Scott) Schwartz of Troy and Leah (Greg) McIntyre of Strongsville; brother George (Susan) Sandru, of Powder Springs, GA.; 4 grandchildren Brayden and Devin Schwartz, Case and Grey McIntyre. Friends may call at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, September 4 ^th , from 5 - 8 PM, where a Trisagion Service being held at 7 and also Saturday one hour prior to services. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 5 ^th , at 10 AM, also in the church with the Rev. Protopresbyter Daniel M. Rogich PhD officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
