Opal J Junka

Opal J Junka, 91, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday, May 3rd, at St. Luke's Lutheran Home following a brief illness. Born in Garfield, on September 1, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clydis (Campbell) Pocrnich, also preceded in death by her husband Alex Junka, November 15, 1989, daughter Peggy Naughton, sister Helen, brothers Floyd, Marion, Clyde, and nephew Steven Pocrnich. Retired at age 65 as a registered nurse at Aultman Hospital.  Member of the St George Romanian Catholic Cathedral of Canton, Sf. Maria's Ladies Auxiliary, and president of Senior Citizens Club all of the church. Survived by 2 sons Robert (Nancy) Maciag, of North Canton, Edward Maciag, granddaughter Amy (Kerry) Prater; and 2 great-grandsons Ethan and Connor Prater.

Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 6th, 2016, in the St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral with Very Rev. Fr. Ovidiu Marginean officiating.

Friends may call from 6-8pm Thursday, May 5 ^th , in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral home where a Saracusta will be held at 7:30pm, and one hour prior to services on Friday in the church.

Memorial tributes may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.
