Patrick Forkin, 74, of Massillon, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at Aultman Compassionate Care (Woodlawn) in Canton. Born in Chicago, Illinois on August 19, 1950, the son of the late James Joseph and Joan Marie (Rains) Forkin. Patrick graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1968. Fall of 1972, Patrick left Barrington, IL for San Francisco, CA. He wrote letters back to Reyne Handrick, four years his junior, a relation among dating friends in school. Months later Reyne moved out to live with him in Marin County. August 26th, 1973 they returned to Barrington for their wedding at St. Anne's Church. Their homestead together resumed with a house in Novato, CA. Patrick had his Triumph motorcycle and Reyne had Hans, her beloved shephard-mix and Frampton her Appaloosa colt. September 18th of 1977, their first child, Brendan was born. The following year, Patrick took an offer to work for his father's company, Buckeye Sales and Marketing of Northeast Ohio. November 7th, 1979, Meghan was born in Clinton, OH. Patrick continued to work for the family business for the full run of its operation until 2000. He set deep roots in Ohio with lifelong friends and neighbors. Their shared pastimes included shooting pool and they became excellent players. August 27th, 2023 Patrick was inducted into the Greater Canton Amateur Billiard Association's Hall of Fame. He is survived by daughter Meghan Weissenborn; son Brendan Forkin; 3 sisters Carol Petersen, Judy (Chris) Wenum, Kelly (David) Knight; 2 brothers Tim (Betsy) Forkin, Dan (Therese) Forkin; grandchild Norah Weissenborn as well as other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home Saturday, January 4th from 12 PM - 2 PM.
