Paul "Dick" Benedict, 82, of Canton, passed away Monday, August 5th, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton, on June 11, 1942, a son of the late Paul Dale Benedict and Nellie Elizabeth (Keckich). He honorably served in the U.S. Army. A graduate of Lehman High School, Dick was known to have excelled in sports. Following high school, he attended Mount Union College. He was employed with the Hoover Company for 25 years as a District Sales Manager before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as socializing and playing cards with his friends at the VFW, American Legion, and The Fraternal Order of Eagles clubs. As an avid golfer, he played in several leagues in the Akron/Canton area, and was inducted into the Canton Fumbleball Hall of Fame. Survived by 2 daughters Heather (Frank) Moga, Trisha (Greg) Somich; sister Jan (Stan) Schultz; 4 grandchildren Benedict Moga, Luke Moga, Madison Somich, and Max Somich; long time friend, Bob (Cynthia) Price; as well as many nieces; nephews; family members ; and friends. No services will be held at this time.
