Renee Johnson, 67, transitioned peacefully from this life to her Eternal Home with the Lord surrounded by her family on January 27, 2025. Renee, a life-long Canton resident, was born November 15, 1957, to Fred and Zeola Wright, Sr. She was one of nine siblings. Renee married the love of her life, John Henry Johnson, on September 26, 1987, and their love story blossomed for over 37 years. Two determined sons were born to this union: Jonathan Henry and Akeem Olajuwon and one beautiful daughter: Renal Aaliyah. Renee loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a former member of All Saints Temple Church of God in Christ. She later joined River of Life Christian Fellowship Church, where she served as a devoted choir member for over 20 years. Renee loved her family and her eight grandchildren. She was a thriftier and loved listening to gospel music. She was an avid fisherwoman and could be found at local ponds and lakes catching fish with her beloved husband and sons. Renee enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and watching "The Young and the Restless". She was a strong Christian and her faith never wavered. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a testimony to God's grace and His miracles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Zeola (Magee) Wright; daughter, Renal Johnson; brothers, Cortez "Tezzy" and Ivan Wright; and her sisters, Feleica Murray and Belinda Wright. Renee leaves to cherish her passing devoted husband, John Johnson; sons, Jonathen and Akeem; grandchildren, Aamiyah, Nevaeh, Tremayne, Zaynah, Johnny Marsh, Kingsley, Arriella and Kaleiya; sisters, Gerri (Jimmy) Coleman, of Akron; Michelle Wright of Canton; brothers Fred Wright, Jr., Ronnie Wright, of Canton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Homegoing service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 3 PM at River of Life Christian Fellowship, 1217 19th St NE, Canton, OH 44714. Condolences may be sent to the Johnson Family at 2028 St. Elmo Ave. NE, Canton, OH 44714.
