Richard Guy Mancini, 82, of North Canton, passed away Thursday, December 5th, at St. Luke Lutheran Home. Born in Canton on October 21, 1942, a son of the late Guy and Carmella (D'Aurora) Mancini. He served honorably stateside in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Specialist E-4 during the Vietnam War. A graduate of Kent State University (B.S.), and Akron University (M.Ed.), he was a devoted teacher for 35 years with Canton City Schools and positively impacted the lives of many. His proudest accomplishments were his family and his beloved cat, Phil. He loved watching Ohio State football and boxing, having in-depth conversations about everything under the sun, exercising, and being a bit of a jokester with a ready quip to make you smile. He was also known as a sharp dresser, a trait he carried with him until the end. Preceded in death by his brother, Joseph, he is survived by his wife, Sharon (Moushey) Mancini; daughter Jennifer (Chad) Hickman, of Charlotte, NC; son Damon (Kelsey) Mancini, of Silver Lake, OH; 4 grandchildren, along with extended family members and many close friends. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care, and the team at St. Luke's for their compassionate and comforting care. No services will be held at this time.
