Robert Eugene Funk, 88, of Alliance, passed away Friday, October 1st, at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Massillon. Born in Alliance on June 2, 1933, a son of the late Ralph and Margaret (Buckle) Funk, also preceded in death by 5 sisters Rosemarie, Gertrude, Evelyn, Gloria, Mildred; 2 brothers Ralph, Richard and dog Hunter. An Alliance high school graduate in 1953, he served in the U.S. Army and was employed at Clem Lumber. An avid animal lover, who owned many cats and dogs, Robert enjoyed working outside and building things as well as playing the  keyboard, guitar and banjo. Survived by brother Ronald Funk and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special niece Barbara Reynolds, special nephew Mike (Debbie) Spears; special friend and caretaker Patty Noll; as well as great-nieces: and great-nephews. There will be no services at this time. The family is planning a memorial gathering in the Spring of 2022.
