Robert E. Kersey Sr.
Robert E. Kersey, Sr., 64, of Canton passed away Sunday, October 27, at his residence following a brief illness. Robert was born in Steubenville on February 5, 1949, the son of the late Claude Emery and Margaret Virginia (Holmes) Kersey, also preceded in death by former wives Sandy Rosenberg in 1983, and Debra (Early) Kersey in 2005 as well as two sisters Martha DeVore and Pamela Jackson; brother Joseph E. Kersey Sr. Employed as a roll former at Gregory Industries of Canton for 14 years, retiring September 10, 2013 and previously for 25 years with Winters Foundry of Canton until its close. Served four years as SP4 in the US Army.
Survived by his wife Kathy J. (Tipton) Kersey. married July 9, 2005; four daughters Shannon (Anthony) Bissett of Canton, Robin (Robert) Allen of Ft. Riley, KS, Virginia (Steve) Pinkerton of Stratton,
Heather Kersey of Toronto; two sons Robert (Denise) Kersey Jr. of Canton, Justin (Jennifer Johnson) Kersey of Louisville; stepdaughter Tracy Kersey, and stepson Joseph Kersey Jr. both of Toronto; two sisters Karen Sue Cunningham of Calcutta, Theresa-Jackson Kersey of Weirton, WV; three brothers Charles Kersey of Wellsville, Calvin Kersey of Weirton and Terry Umstead of Wellsville as well as thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home at 7pm on Tuesday, October 29, with Matthew W. Conley officiating. Friends may call same-day from 5pm til time of service also in the funeral home.
