Robert "Bob" Long, 81, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, July 19th, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Canton on July 12, 1942, a son of the late John F. and Pauline (Horning) Long, also preceded in death by brother John Long. A class of 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School, he was employed for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a maintainer and supervisor for 35 years before retiring. Served in the United States Army Reserve as an SP5 from 1964 until 1970. He was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Survived by his wife, Linda J. (Kelly) Long, married August 11, 1964; 2 daughters Mary Ann Milliken, of Canton, Sandy (Roseanne) Long, of Macedonia; 2 sisters Peg Erbland, Nancy (Bill) Lee; brother Tom (Vivian) Long; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends including close friend Sonny Tidenberg. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 5th in the Faith Community Church of Canton with Pastor Elden officiating. Friends and family may call starting at 10:00 AM, also in the church.
