In Loving Memory of Robert Dallas Schnur
06-01-1981 - 12-13-2025
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Dallas Schnur, who left this world on 12-13-2025 at the age of 44 after a lifelong battle of Myotonic Dystrophy, and a battle of stage 4 cancer for a year and a half. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Dallas as he was known was born on 06-01-1981 in Wichita, Kansas, and from the very beginning brought laughter, and kindness into the lives of those around them. Throughout his life he loved the game of pool, playing the drums, and watching his favorite football teams the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys.
Above all else, Dallas cherished his family, friendships and the big family get togethers around the holidays and birthdays.
Dallas is survived by his brother Jeff Schnur in Joplin, Missouri, his niece Olivia Schnur in Joplin, Missouri, his niece Savannah Schnur in Perry Twp, Ohio, his aunt Donita and cousins Jacob, Lacey, Rachael, Anna, Blaise in Wichita, Kansas, his uncles Paul and Blake and cousins Adam and Emily in Ontario, Canada, and his second family in Canton, Ohio, Neil Blackburn who was his lifelong friend/brother, Rayna Bradshaw, Kayla Blackburn, Jay Rivera, Skylor Blackburn, Caylyn Blackburn, Natalie Blackburn, NJ Blackburn Jr, Ciera Hammit, Chris Morrison, Veronika Becker, Collin Morrison, Adrianna Laney, Betty Sherman and many 2nd cousins, and kids throughout the families that adored him.
He was preceded in death by His parents Robert and Catherine Schnur, his brothers Gavin and Garrett, his Grandparents Roland and Phyllis LaCoursiere, Earl and Maryjane Baker, his Uncle Stephen Schnur, his nephew Cody Schnur, and lifelong friend/sister Priscilla Blackburn, Though deeply missed, they all live on in the memories we hold, the lessons they taught, and the love they shared.
Dallas would have liked to give special recognition to his second family. It was his lifelong friends Neil and Priscilla (deceased) Blackburn who welcomed Dallas in their home with their children 10 years ago shortly after the passing of his father and helped him in the last portion of his life as he battled debilitating Myotonic Dystrophy and depression. And Rayna Bradshaw (Neil's significant other) who moved Dallas into her home in 2024 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Rayna with Neil and family was by his side each day taking him to his Dr appointments and caring for him. Veronika who became his Home health aide during his last year and Chris who did all the heavy lifting when Dallas became immobile. Dallas's second family was with him each and every day for all his needs and he was true joy to have in their lives.
His best friends through out is life was Jeremy Englehaupt, Brett Lane Louie/Crystal E. Steven Meriner, and
Neil and Priscilla Blackburn.
As we say goodbye, we remember Dallas not only for the years he lived, but for the love he gave. His legacy is written in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be with us forever.
"You got your legs again Dallas. Run buddy and catch them Dallas cowgirls."
