Obituary

Rocky Hoover, 70, of Canton passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton on June 23, 1956, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mamie Lucille (Roush) Hoover. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 sisters Judy Carter, Dora Henderhan, and his brother Jimmy Hoover. Rocky was a collector of just about everything. If there was something interesting, useful, or unusual, chances were Rocky had it-or was thinking about adding it to his collection. He especially enjoyed going to auctions, where he could hunt for a good find and bring home another treasure. He also loved shopping from his friend, Alibaba, always finding something new that he just had to have. Rocky also enjoyed good food and never passed up an opportunity to eat something he enjoyed. Whether he was fishing, watching sports, admiring cars, browsing an auction, shopping for his latest find, or simply enjoying a good meal, Rocky found plenty of ways to enjoy life. He will be remembered for his many interests, his resourcefulness, his love of collecting, and the unique personality that made him who he was. Rocky leaves behind memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him. Survived by daughter Amanda (Anibal "Jr") Vega; sister Janet Hippert; 3 brothers Raymond, John (Lisa), and Randy Hoover; 3 grandchildren Ricarto Mora, Mia Perez, Marcelo Vega; nieces and nephews Rhonda, Stacey, John, Phillip, Tonya, Jeremiah, Josh, Jacob, Jesse, Ashley, Talenia, Arayiah; best friend Eddie Gamble as well as other loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
