Roger Dalton, 78, of Canton, Ohio passed away on June 2, 2026 at Mercy Hospital. Born on November 4, 1947 in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Leonard and Violet (Norris) Dalton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 3 brothers Frank, Ray and Woodrow Dalton. Roger was a man who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially casting a line into the water and seeing where the road might take him next. Fishing was one of Roger's greatest passions. Whether he was spending a quiet morning at his favorite fishing spot or sharing stories about the ones that got away, he found peace and happiness on the water. Roger also had a love for traveling. He never needed a specific destination to be happy-he simply enjoyed going places, seeing new sights, and experiencing the world around him. In 1973, Roger married the love of his life, Sheila, beginning a marriage that would span decades and create a lifetime of treasured memories. Together, they built a loving family and were blessed with two sons, Jonathan and Leonard, who were a source of great pride and joy throughout his life. Survived by his loving wife Sheila (Mayle) Dalton; 2 sons Jonathan Dalton, Leonard Dalton; 3 sisters Juanita Faye Dalton, Patricia Bennett, Francis Heard; brother Lee Dalton; 4 grandchildren Brooklyn, Destiny, Rosalie, Tyler Dalton; as well as other loving family members and friends.
