November 11, 1965 – January 3, 2026
Ruth Ann Kennedy, 60, passed away on Saturday, January 3rd at Mercy Hospital. Born in Canton, on November 11th 1965, to the late James and Gladys Starr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Teresea Venturini and her brother James Starr. Ruth will be remembered as a gentle soul with a deep love for beauty, creativity, and compassion. She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life and had a remarkable ability to make both people and animals feel cared for. An avid crocheter, Ruth spent countless hours creating pieces stitched with patience and love. Her hands were rarely still, and her crocheting was both a comfort to her and a gift to others. She also had a profound love for animals. One stray cat in particular found a forever home in Ruth's heart, and she devoted herself to caring for and loving it with unwavering tenderness. Ruth had a strong appreciation for American Indian décor and culture, collecting meaningful pieces that reflected her admiration for artistry, history, and tradition. She loved to travel and explore new places, journeying to many destinations, including New York and beyond. Wherever she went, Ruth brought her camera, capturing moments, landscapes, and memories through her lens. Photography was one of the ways she preserved the beauty she saw in the world. Her legacy lives on in the warmth she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she so lovingly preserved.
Survived by her daughter Kimberly (Aaron Darby) Myers; son Joseph Myers; 2 grandchildren Ezra Anthony, Mah'lique Darby; numerous cousins; as well as other loving family members and friends.
