Sally Hagey, 73, of New Philadelphia passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Community Hospice Truman House. Born in Dover on July 7, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Arthur "Art" and Agnes (Bleinger) Penrod. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Dale Penrod as well as 2 brothers-in-law Lonnie Hagey and Ralph May. Sally found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed doing crafts and sewing, always finding something special to make with her hands. Above all, reading was her favorite pastime. She could easily become immersed in a good story, often finishing an entire book in just 2 days. Sally's love of creativity, sewing, crafts, and especially reading brought her happiness throughout her life. She leaves behind cherished memories and will be lovingly remembered by those whose lives she touched. Survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Dennis Hagey Jr.; step-son, James "JD" Hagey; sister, Charlotte May; 2 sisters-in-law, Tammy and Penny. She shared a particularly special bond with Tammy, and the two were more like sisters than sisters-in-law. Sally is also survived by her childhood friend who will miss her dearly, Angie Capozella; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece Jenny; great-niece Raegan; 3 aunts; as well as other loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
