Sammy Lou Auvil, 74, of Canton, passed away Friday, February 24th, at the Hanover House. Born in North Carolina on January 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Robert and Garnett (Greer) Campbell, also preceded in death by her son Richard Auvil and a sister. A member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene, of Canton, and a Sunday school teacher for many years. An avid fisherman and loved to go camping, Sammy Lou loved children and was known as the grandma in her neighborhood by all. Survived by her husband Alfred Auvil, married for 53 years; daughter Karen Schweizer; son Jeffrey S. Auvil, both of Canton; 2 sisters; a brother; daughter in law Kelly Auvil of Canton; 6 grandchildren Zachary and Gregory Auvil, Richard and Matthew Auvil, as well as Sara Cirelli and Brittney Schweizer. There will be no services held at this time.
