Shanell Jeneen Backie, 39, of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 9th, at Aultman Hospital following a courageous and faithful battle. Born in Canton on August 27, 1984, a daughter of Willa Backie and the late Arnold Oden. Besides her mother, she is survived by daughter A'Shazmyn Backie-Wallace; 4 sons Samuel Backie-Woods, Christopher Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Zydabrien Backie; 4 sisters Tiffani (Warren) Chavers, Stephanie Peterson, Jennifer Oden, and Robin Oden-Miller; 4 brothers Kerry Davis, Arnold Oden Jr., David (LilliAnn) Oden, and Paul (Linda) Oden; grand-daughter Alaia Marie Backie- Woods; special aunt Elder Renee Backie; as well as a host of cousins; aunts; uncles; family members; and friends.
