Shawnte L. "Odie" Gilmer, 46, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, November 10th, at Aultman Hospital, following a lengthy illness with his beloved mother by his side. Born in Massillon, on August 8, 1972, a son of Stephanie Gilmer and the late Jeffrey White. Survived by 4 daughters Tionna and Mannie Higgins, Tamarii Conley, Dominique Gilmer, and Jennesis Gilmer; 2 sons Shawnte Gilmer Jr., and Te'Shawn Gilmer; 3 sisters Kewala Gilmer, LaTasha White, and Nicole White; 7 brothers Nelson White; Grady Gilmer, Truemane White, Cortez Boles, Cyrus Harper, Christopher Benjamin, Christopher Herring; grandmother Carolyn White; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; 3 grandchildren: Kadience Conley, Amiyah Spears, and Karson Hall; and a special nephew Quinton Ray. Shawnte enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, and waas a life long Raiders fan who was always heard saying "Raiders Nation for LIFE!" and stood behind it. Shawnte will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving father, son, and friend to everyone that entered his life. To properly honor his memory, a Memorial Dinner will be held at Laborers Local 1015, 1121 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, Ohio 44702 from 6PM until 10PM on November 16th, 2018.
