Obituary

Sherry Lynn Dalo (61) of Canton, passed away on May 30th, 2023, surrounded by family after a 13 month long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born August 25th, 1961 in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lee Junior McKown and Marie McKown (Wallbrown), also preceded in death by her husband David Dalo, sister Francis (McKown) Greathouse, and brothers Johnny McKown, Danny McKown, James McKown, Jerry McKown, and Eugene McKown. Owning her own cleaning business since 1995 here in Canton, K.C. Cleaning, Sherry was very hard working and passionate about her job and business. She was the best at getting everything perfect down to the last detail. An Army Veteran, she was passionate about her patriotism and country. Serving gave her great pride and she did what she could in her time after serving to give back to other veterans in the community. A member of Shepherds Hill Church in Louisville, she came to know and love Jesus and the Lord and wanted to learn and serve Him as best she could. When not working, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who called her Mimi, singing them her made up songs and playing with them until they were all exhausted. She is survived by daughter Kasey (Zach) Griffith, of Canton; step daughters Melissa Dalo, of Canton, Nikki Dalo, of Eugene, Oregon; step sons Larry Dalo, Tom Dalo, both of Canton, and Nate (Denay) Dalo, of Knoxville, Iowa as well as 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Patty (George) Dickey, Joyce (Paul) Newell, Judy (Rodney) Schartiger, Donna (Clarence) Butler, Sandra (Paul) Butler; sister in law Karen McKown and brothers Eddie McKown, Mike McKown and the many family and friends who loved her. Thank you to Dr. Nashat Gabrail of Gabrail Cancer Center for giving Sherry a second chance when it seemed that all hope had been lost. Your kindness and efforts will be appreciated forever. There will be no funeral services held as that's what she had wanted. Burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date. Flowers, donations or other things for the family can be given to the family. She is now at peace, no longer struggling from the pain given to her by this disease. As much as she will be missed she is now together again with her husband Dave, her mother Marie, and surrounded by all of the loved family members lost along the way. We know she will be looking down on us all from Heaven, helping to guide us along our way until we see her again. We will make her and dad proud.
