In Loving memory of Sidney Lee Burgess, 64, who passed away on May 16th, 2024 in his own home, surrounded by his family and friends. Lee is preceded in death by his mother Pauline Elizabeth Fields and his father Sidney Edward Burgess, his wife Marilyn Lee Burgess, two nephews Brian Keith Hardy Jr., and Bobby Lee Hardy, two grandchildren Brittany Malaya Renee McLaurin and Christian Michael Burgess. Lee was a loving father and hardworking man. He was a loyal friend and kind-hearted person. He will live on in his ten children Bill, Dawn, Lisa, Jason, Georgette, Brandy, Stephanie, Adam, Tim, and Cody, along with their spouses. Lee's family tree is ripe with 32 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his girlfriend of 15 years, Dawn Bruwier. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Brian Keith Hardy and his wife Barbara, as well as their children and grandchildren; his sister Linda Ann Burgess, as well as her children and grandchildren. Lee was hardheaded and softhearted. He had a wonderful loving heart. He made his family, his purpose. With his wife Marilyn, he raised his children, giving the best of himself to provide for and nurture his family. He will be remembered by his children for all of the patience he had for them, all of the kindness and compassion he offered them, for teaching them how to be fair to one another, even when life isn't fair- especially then!, for setting an example of how to learn from our mistakes and strive to do what we know to be the right thing to do, the decent and proper thing to do, for teaching them how to put others first, and offer them compassion and forgiveness, for instilling in them the integrity to be honest and authentic despite how ugly and hurtful the truth can often be, for teaching them to endure the challenges of life as a family and keep hope and faith in the most trying times. Lee taught his family what love is and there is no greater legacy than love. Lee had a strong spiritual connection. He was an avid Bible reader and studied the Bible intensely. He learned many Bible truths. He cherished and loved telling others those Bible gems from his heart. Knowing the end was close, he told family and friends about Acts 24:15, which talks about Jehovahs' Plan to resurrect his friends back to the earth, wanting us to know he'll be back soon. We invite you to celebrate Lee with love and laughter at his celebration of life dinner. For information regarding the celebration please contact Brandy 330-324-0427.
