Stephan Christopher "Steve" Curie, 55, of Smithville, Ohio, and a resident of Beach City for the last 14 years, passed away suddenly on August 3, 2025, at Dover Union Hospital from pneumonia, following a prolonged battle with cancer.

Steve was known for his contagious laugh and friendly spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all he met. He worked in manufacturing, roofing, logging, construction, and as a chef at The Olde Jaol in Wooster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Emil and Marie Louise (Carney) Curie, and brother Scott Curie.

Steve is survived by his brother Rick (Deb) Curie, sisters Cheryl (Glen) Moore, Vicky (Dan) Collins, Cathy (Kent) Eberle, and Laurie (J.R.) Stiles, his three children, Randi (John) Hunt, Tyler Howell, and Stephan Christopher (Taylor) Curie, and grandchildren Jaxson, Kali, Hayden, Brendan, Riley Jean, and several nieces and nephews.

Per Steve's wishes, he will be cremated, with no formal service. A Celebration of Life in honor of Steve will be held at a later date.
