Thomas "Gene"  Berring, 73, of Canton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 14th, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center.

A truck driver and 38 year employee of Beaver Excavating and member of Teamsters Local 92 and VFW Post #3747.

Born in Canton, on May 4, 1938, the son of the late Fredrick "Fritz" and Mary Virginia (Carroll) Berring, also preceeded in death by Sister Marilyn Cole, Brothers James and Chuck Berring.

Survived by his wife Mickey Berring, whom he married on November 30, 1974, his three daughters, Lisa Mckinney-Berring and Mary Sara Berring, both of Canton; Eugenia (Art Jr.) Berring-Billman of Flushing, OH;  eight Grandchildren: Steven, Cameron, and Bradly McKinney, Anna Billman, Nicholas Berring-Billman, JoJo Dalton, Javen Dalton and Frankie Martz, three sisters, Dorothy (Steve) Kotema of Lousiville, Barb (Jack) Synder of Greensburg , Mary (Don) Seevers of Canton;  brother, Robert (Jeanie) Berring of Louisville, special friend and family member, Aunt Jane Ludwig, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, other family and friends, he was loved by all.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home, at 11am on Saturday, August 20th. Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, August 19th from 5-8pm and Saturday, August 20th from  10am-until time of services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held following Funeral Services at Primos Downtown 216 4th St NW, Canton, Ohio 44701 (330) 456-2511, the family requests that donations and/or food items may be delivered to Primos Downtown on Saturday, August 20th between 10am-1pm.
