Thomas E Smith, Sr., 71, of Canton passes away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton on September 19, 1944, a son of the late Raymond and Margaret Smith, also preceded in death by a sister Doris Chandler. Survived by his wife Virginia (Mayle) Smith of Canton; 5 daughters Mary Smith, Allison Smith, Jennifer (Amadou) Diallo, Janet Smith, and Cynthia Culver; son Thomas Smith, Jr.; sister Donna Newman; 2 brothers Raymond "Sonny" Smith, Jr., and Robert Smith; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, September 12, 2016, in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Stockdale officiating.

Friends may call from 10am-noon prior to the services.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
