Vernon C Koontz, Jr, 58, of Canton, passed away Saturday, August 22nd, at Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Canton, on September 13, 1956, for many years he was employed as a cook at many restaurants in the Canton area, and for the last 2 years before his disability he was a taxi cab driver for Yellow Cab of Canton, Vernon also served in the US Army. Vernon had a passion for music, being especially fond of the Beatles and the local Marching Bands. Preceded in death by his parents Vernon C. Koontz Sr. and Ruth Agnes (Jacquet) Burch, sister Sue Johnson, 2 brothers Billy and Bobby Koontz. Survived by wife Sandra (Reese) Koontz; daughter Brittany (Joseph Hudak) Koontz, of Canton; son Alex (Valerie) Koontz, of Summerville, South Carolina; sister Diane Klingman, of Canton; brother Raymond Koontz, of Louisville; and 5 grandchildren.
