Veronica G. Winland, 24, of Navarre was tragically taken far too soon on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, leaving behind a profound sadness in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Born in Canton on August 9, 2001, she was the daughter of Brian Winland and Kelley (Scholey) Winland. She is preceded in death by her fraternal and maternal grandparents, as well as her first cousin Cole "Bucky" Scholey. Veronica was truly the light of everyone's world, and her nieces and nephews were the light of hers. She cherished every moment spent with them and took great joy in watching them grow. Her love for her family was unconditional, and the memories she created with them will remain treasured forever. Veronica had a goofy, playful spirit and an infectious laugh and smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. She was wise beyond her years and seemed to always know exactly what to say when someone needed encouragement, comfort, or simply someone to listen. Veronica had a natural gift for emotionally supporting others, and she had a way of making people feel understood, valued, and loved. She touched the lives of everyone she met, often leaving a lasting impression simply by being herself. Her faith was an important part of who Veronica was. She loved God deeply and shared a strong and meaningful bond with her Lord. Her faith provided her with strength, wisdom, and compassion, qualities she carried with her in the way she treated others. Veronica was intelligent, caring, and never afraid to show a little sass when the moment called for it. She had a personality all her own and a spirit that could not be forgotten. She was also a devoted lover of animals and nature, finding beauty and peace in the world around her. Though Veronica's life was tragically cut short, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the lives she touched will continue through all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, nieces, nephews, and countless others who loved her. Veronica may no longer walk beside them, but the light she brought into their lives will never fade. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Daniel I. Lawson; 3 sisters Brittney, Brook, Lauren; Nephews and niece Maximus, Corban, Gavin, Aurora; soon to be nephew, Leon; her 3 beloved kitties Terry, TJ, Taiyo; as well as other loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
