Waitman T. McCartney

Waitman T. McCartney, 59, of Minerva went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 17th at his residence following a lengthy illness. Waitman was born in Philippi, WV on September 16, 1953, the son of the late Lawrence Waitman and Evelyn (Croston) McCartney; preceded in death by daughter Angel; son Waitman; sister Eva Lynn McCartney and brother Charles Croston.

Pastor of the Apostolic Believers in The Lord Jesus Christ Church of East Canton. Employed for 6 years at the Republic Steel Corp of Canton as a Stamper; and 13 years with Laborers Local 1015 also of Canton.

Survived by his wife of 39 years Edith (Kennedy) McCartney married July 21st 1973; two sons Chris (Stacie Heath) McCartney of Minerva, Joshua McCartney of the home; two grandchildren Angel and Krissy McCartney; five sisters Emogene Mayle of Paris, Carolyn Mayle of Canton South, Wanda Swiger,
Mary McCartney, Alta Croston all of Philippi, WV and brother Troy Lee McCartney of Philippi, WV.

Funeral Services will be held at the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home at 11AM on Thursday, March 21st,  with Rev. Allie Walker officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 1-9pm in the Funeral Home. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens of Louisville.
