Wendel H. "Sam" Glaab, 81, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 5th, at home with his wife by his side. Born in Indiana, PA on October 13, 1933, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1992 as a Conductor for Conrail after 38 years. Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Anastasia (Havey) Glaab, son Christopher Glaab. Survived by his wife Beverly A. Glaab, whom he married July 9, 1961; 3 daughters Michelle (Fred) Offenberger, of Waynesburg, Melissa (William) French, of Canton, Nicole Glaab, of Louisville; 2 sons Michael Glaab and Jeffrey Glaab, of both of Louisville; 6 grandchildren Benjamin and Daniel Blackwell, Cassidy Offenberger, Christopher, Marcus and Leo French. Sam was known for his fast wit and his love for his dogs. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 12 th at 1 – 3 PM, in the American Legion Hall - Louisville.
