William L. Hester, 76, of Canton lost his battle against lung cancer on Thursday, May 28th. Born in Canton, on April 12, 1950, a son of the late Oscar and Etta (Davis) Hester. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Joe, Bernard, Leroy, Katherine, and Juanita. Survived by 2 daughters Susan Clark, Janet Reed; grandchildren Jesse and Rylee Reed; siblings David Hester, Shirley Blackburn, Timmy (Debbie) Hester and Claudia Battaiger.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 and spent the next 30 years working at the Timken Company to support his family. He took pride in being a Union Steward. When he retired, he was able to devote his time to helping others. He had a gentle presence and a heart of gold. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by all who loved him. A Funeral service will be held in the Ward-Simchak Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3rd at 4pm. Family and friends may call one hour prior.
