Obituary

William P. Hobbs, 80, of Canton, passed away Monday, May 15th, at Windsor Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Amigo, WV on April 8, 1937, a son of the late Wilfred S. and Vogal Mae (McKinney) Hobbs, also preceded in death by first wife Shirley (Holmes) Hobbs in 2009, and sister Gwendolyn Tiedt. Employed as a precision grinder at The Timken Co. for 30 years, as well as a 30 year independent insurance agent for the Fitzgerald Insurance Company of North Industry. Member and Elder of the North Industry Christian Church. Survived by his wife Judy (Ritz) Hobbs, married April 17th, 2010;  daughters Vickie Hobbs, of Topock, Az, Rebecca Mae (Vern) Dale, of N. Canton; Step-daughter Christine (John) Ritchie of Monroe;  Step-sons Rick (Melinda) Swonger, of Mansfield, Mark (Stacey) Swonger, of Canton; Grandchildren Bryce Bodnar, John (Kallie) Mariol II, Meredith (Tim Carpenter) Mariol, Lisa Dale, Kimberly Dale, Erica (Jon) Smith, Julie (Ryan) Hawley, Megan (Jason) Deweese, Kyle Swonger, Delaney Swonger;  sisters Jacqueline Ordiway, Charlotte Jaquez; brother Phillip (Connie) Hobbs, all of Fairmont, WV. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 20th at the North Industry Christian Church, , 425 45th St SW Canton, OH 44706, with Rev. Steve Kimbrel officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services also at the church. A private burial was previously held in Westlawn Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions to the North Industry Christian Church.
