William "Junior" Kennedy Jr., 82, of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 23rd, at his residence. Born in Morgantown, WV on February 9, 1937, a son of the late William Sr and Devon (Norris) Kennedy, also preceded in death by daughter Teri Jean Kennedy, grandson William Kennedy Jr, brothers Hubert and Sammy Kennedy as well as sister Linda Mayle. Employed for over 30 years as a mental health worker before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Apostolic Believers Church of Canton where he was a board member. He was also Chief of the Allegany Nation Indian Center. Besides his wife Mae (Newman) Kennedy, married November 19, 1965, he is survived by 4 daughters Marie Kennedy, of Philippi, WV, Becky (Mike) Mayle, Loretta (Mark) Schroader, all of Canton, Betty (Lyndal) Tabler, of East Canton; 4 sons Little Billy Kennedy, of Philippi, WV, Big Bill Kennedy, of Canton, Clinton (Kimberly) Goodwin, of San Diego, CA, Lee Kennedy, of the home; 5 sisters Madeline Tichenor, Dora Mayle, Irene Mayle, Edith McCartney, Janet Minard; 2 brothers Jerry Kennedy. Norman Kennedy; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, March 27th in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home with Pastor Allie Walker officiating. Friends may call from 11AM until time of service.
