William R. Lasure ,77, of East Sparta passed away on Monday, May 11th surrounded by family. Born in Marietta on August 21, 1948, a son of the late Dewey and Eva Aldene (Williams) Lasure. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by brother Keith Lasure. William was a proud graduate of McKinley High School, Class of 1967. He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army before dedicating 33 years of hard work to The Timken Company before retiring. William faithfully attended Trinity Gospel Temple for many years, where he built lasting friendships and a strong foundation of faith. Known as a true handyman and "jack of all trades," William could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, generosity, and dependable nature touched the lives of so many. William was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survived by loving wife of 55 years Linda (Grooms) Lasure; daughter Amber Sloan; 2 sisters Shirley (Danny) Storch, Sherry (Bob) Pawley; 3 grandchildren Emily, Hunter, Alex; 2 great grandchildren Amira and Ivan as well as many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21st, at 10:30 AM (family and friends may gather one hour prior to service) at Trinity Gospel Temple -1612 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, OH 44708- with a luncheon following the service.
