William Arnold "Bill" Starr, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6th, 2025. He was born in Canton, Ohio, to the late William R. & Flora Wanda Starr on July 22nd, 1954. He spent the majority of his life in Canton area but also resided in California and Florida. He was a U.S. Army veteran & worked a multitude of jobs before his health forced him to retire. He was very active in the antique business where he had many friends and acquaintances. For the last ten years, Bill resided at the Canton Towers where he was a faithful, humble servant, always thinking about others. He spent hours preparing and delivering food for neighbors and the staff and was also a helpful volunteer to the maintenance and office staff. Bill was a part of Not Alone:A Ministry of Hope for 5 years. He helped them deliver gifts door to door every year on Christmas Eve. Every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, Bill made between 40-50 meals to take to friends and neighbors. Everyone at Canton Towers will miss his smile, his sense of humor and presence in their lives. The friendships he formed there were numerous and so special. Special friend Shelley Showers will miss his friendship and his peanut butter cookies as well as her well-manicured lawn thanks to all his hard work. The care Bill provided for her father, Al Gifford, before his passing in 2013, was appreciated more than he knew & will not be forgotten. Bill was rich in the ways that mattered the most & he shared his wealth with all of those lucky enough to know him. Following his wishes, Bill we be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at the Canton Towers at a later date.
