David Ward

Licensed Funeral Director and Manager

David is a graduate of East Canton High School and the University of Mount Union, where he earned a degree in History in 2018. He has been with the funeral home since 2014, gaining experience in all aspects of the business. He is also a member of Canton Lodge No. 60, Free and Accepted Masons, and supports the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

David lives in East Canton with his wife, Katie, and their daughter, Madeline. Their family also includes a gentle giant German Shepherd, Lana. In his free time, he enjoys restoring tractors and vintage Ford trucks, as well as building and repairing a variety of mechanical projects. A lifelong learner, he has a strong interest in history, documentaries, and expanding his knowledge across many subjects.

Mary Heckman

Office Administrator and Care Team Member

Mary is an Army veteran, a dedicated mother of four, and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Her military background instilled in her a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and commitment—qualities she brings to both her academic journey and professional life.

Mary is deeply family-oriented and enjoys spending her free time camping and fishing. She values hard work, integrity, and compassion, and strives to reflect these principles in everything she does.

Sierra Beahm

Apprentice Funeral Director and Care Team Member

Sierra is a native of New Philadelphia with a strong academic background in psychology and criminal justice, holding a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice and a master’s degree in forensic psychology. She is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Funeral Director, reflecting her commitment to compassionate service and supporting others during difficult times.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sierra enjoys video games such as The Sims, Baldur’s Gate, and The Elder Scrolls, as well as music, having played clarinet in marching band and guitar in a high school ensemble. She also enjoys astronomy, gardening, and spending time with friends. Sierra is a proud owner of three cats—Basketts, Kirby, and Tony—and shares her life with her boyfriend, Peter, whom she met during her undergraduate studies.
